The wellbeing of our pupils, staff and wider school community is a key priority in our school. In 2025, we were proud to be awarded the Amber Flag in recognition of our commitment to promoting positive mental health and wellbeing.

Throughout the year, pupils take part in a range of wellbeing initiatives including the Daily Mile, movement breaks, wellbeing assemblies, reading buddies, buddy bench activities and our annual Wellbeing Week. Wellbeing Week is a particular highlight for pupils and includes guided meditation, compliment circles, random acts of kindness challenges, gratitude activities, Zumba, musical yard sessions and celebration assemblies. These activities encourage pupils to develop positive relationships, healthy habits and a strong sense of belonging within our school community.

Through the Bí Cineálta framework, we promote kindness, respect and inclusion in all aspects of school life. We foster a restorative approach to building and maintaining positive relationships, encouraging pupils to reflect, take responsibility for their actions and work together to resolve difficulties. Pupil voice is central to our approach, with initiatives such as the Student Council, wellbeing surveys and classroom worry boxes helping to ensure that every child feels heard, valued and supported.
